HybridAEP workflow / Calculation logic

The workflow keeps raw, calibrated and representative datasets separate so every transformation remains auditable.

ERA5 20 years → Hourly Wind Speed Calibration → Long-term Wind Resource → Turbine & AEP → PyWake / FLORIS → net AEP/losses → selected real year → Hybrid / BESS

  1. ERA5 stores the complete real multi-year hourly meteorology.
  2. Calibration derives a reference-period bias factor and applies it to the long hourly series.
  3. Long-term analysis keeps all real years for statistics and selects one real Representative Wind Year separately.
  4. Turbine & AEP applies hub-height conversion and the power curve to every historical hour, producing year-by-year gross AEP statistics before wake losses.
  5. The representative real-year 8760/8784 profile is intended for chronological hybrid/BESS studies where temporal coincidence matters.
